The Record Club is a live online gathering for music lovers who enjoy discovering new albums, revisiting forgotten classics and sharing recommendations.

Every Wednesday at 9pm CET (Amsterdam, Paris time), participants meet online to discuss a curated playlist covering indie rock, post-punk, shoegaze, folk, electronic music and everything in between.

The Record Club features also guest musicians and monthly band interviews, including:

  • An Ocean of Embers
  • Swell
  • Snow Coats
  • Lost Sols
  • Bony Macaroni
  • Pills For Tomorrow
  • Cranes
  • More indie artists and guests to be announced soon

Inspired by the spirit of Bernard Lenoir, John Peel and late-night alternative radio culture.

No expertise required. Just curiosity and a passion for music.

Meet The Speakers

LAURENT

The Isn’t Anything cassette by My Bloody Valentine, given to me by a friend in 1988, completely changed my perspective on music.

Les Inrockuptibles magazine, back when it was a beautifully produced magazine published every two months, followed by Bernard Lenoir on France Inter, completed my transformation into a devoted fan of independent rock, shoegaze, punk and, more recently, noise.

I still go to concerts and buy vinyl records.

I am the moderator of The Record Club and the creator of concertandvinyl.com.

ALEX

I am a former drummer of indie bands from the 90s, TV sound engineer and recent author of my memoir, “Three and a Half Minutes of Fame”.

An avid gig-goer, with one foot in the 90s and the other dipping its toe in new discoveries and genres.

ISABELLE

At the age of 10, in 1981, I discovered The Cure through France’s newly launched independent radio stations and immersed myself in New Wave, followed by Noisy Pop. Lush, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins… and, above all, live shows fuelled my passion for music.

In 1990, seeing Lush and Pale Saints at Ubu in Rennes inspired me to cross over to the other side of the stage: I bought a guitar and formed Flying Nuns with my sister and her boyfriend.

In 2026, music remains ever-present through my projects Flying Nuns, Un-Ter and Stella SöLNE. Still curious about new bands, particularly shoegaze and indie rock, what I love most is discovering, experiencing and sharing music at The Record Club.

STEPHANE

Introduced to the Beatles by my parents from an early age, and then to the Smiths during my high-school years, I had two major musical rituals as a student: Bernard Lenoir’s radio show and the arrival of the latest issue of Les Inrockuptibles in my mailbox – at least until it switched to a weekly format.

Although my musical horizons have broadened considerably since then, particularly towards electronic music, I remain a sucker for catchy pop songs, clean guitars, finely crafted melodies and carefully worked arrangements. I also have a very strong preference for studio albums: what I love above all is the music itself, much more than the spectacle of live performance.
