It took me a while to accept this album into my collection. After so many great albums and unforgettable singles, Slowdive did feel like a letdown this time—much like The Cure with their latest Songs of a Lost World. But hey, it’s still Slowdive—and honestly, even a “disappointing” Slowdive is miles ahead of most shoegaze releases from the past 30 years.
