Julie was, in our view, the second-best band at Outbreak Festival London this year. They played with the confidence of a much bigger band, despite being scheduled early — late afternoon. A true rock attitude and a sound not far from early Placebo, with an exceptional drummer. Their music fits perfectly with today’s trends: more shoegaze on record, more grunge live. Catchy songs. I wish them good luck — though, at least on the rock scene, they clearly have a bright future. And if rock were to replace today’s new pop divas (we’re still far from that, despite tens of thousands of young people gathered at Outbreak Festival — which is already something positive), Julie would have a wide open road ahead…
